We are writing to you from Queen Margaret University, currently in our third year of studies. For this term we are required to write a business plan, to which we are hoping you would be able to contribute.
Please note that this is a hypothetical project, however we would like your answers to be as realistic as possible, as they will be included in the final hand-in.
Based on successful cycle hire projects in cities such as London, Paris and Amsterdam we too would like to implement a similar service into Edinburgh city. We want to inspire the people of Edinburgh to use of the “EDiNBiKE” service, showing that it is an easy way to start healthy living as well as reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
“Healthy, sustainable, accessible and valuable transport within Edinburgh’s City Centre.”
Due to the fact that the initial target market would be students and tourists, we would start our business in areas that already have a strong student population and are located near tourist attractions. The Meadows area of Edinburgh City would be the best place to first set up this project as it is central with a high level of sporting activity, wide flat land and is located within minutes of the University of Edinburgh.
Recently there has been a strong search of demand for healthy and sustainable living. People are more aware of the impact that they have on the world as well as the impact their activities have on their selves.
We are looking for potential marketing, sponsorship and any further information you might have that would help us develop this project.
We hope this Email finds you well, If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us via this address.
Araceli, James and Denise
This sounds like a great project and hopefully one day soon it will be a real option – not just a hypothetical study. I have a few organisations you should contact, if you haven’t already and will send an email with the details. If you have any surveys, questionaires that you need circulating I can do that from my facebook page. Good luck.
