So, you finish your yoga class, you feel balanced, invigorated, and a little bit hungry. But after spending an hour or more looking after your body do you really want to head to a greasy spoon (OK, maybe once in a while 😀 ). So what do you do? Well, the folk at Meadowlark Yoga took matters in their own hands and opened their own healthy café – just a few doors down from their yoga centre at 43 Argyle Place.
The Meadowlark Café, No. 39, had a ‘soft launch’ this week to test the waters and try out their concept of fresh, healthy, organic food and drink that includes delicious ‘superfoods, soups, various combinations of vegan, vegetarian, raw breakfast and lunch specials, juices, smoothies, tea, coffee and treats.
The turnout for the soft launch was a great opportunity to test the waters (by jumping in headfirst!) and gather some feedback from all the people who came out to embrace the healthy food concept – myself included! After a few days break they’ll be re-opening with lots of new ideas and a bigger selection – with soups from Union of Genius and amazing raw dishes and desserts from the creator of ORB there will be something for everyone.
If you missed the ‘soft’ launch here are a few pics to give you an idea of what to look forward to when they open properly on Friday the 15th of November. I can’t wait to try more dishes like my Raw Plentiful Platter with 3 different kinds of raw ‘bread’, fresh vegetables; creamy, peppery cashew ‘cheese’; and the most incredible raw barbecue sauce that had me licking the little bowl to get every last drop. I finished off with a dense, creamy, zesty lemon and lime cheesecake that tickled my tastebuds. I was so amazed that I could feel so satisfied without feeling heavy, bloated or guilty.
